How to Conduct A/B Tests with Studiocart and Divi: A Step-by-Step Guide

To conduct A/B tests with Studiocart and Divi Leads, try creating two or more variations of your product in Studiocart, then create corresponding variations of the Studiocart Checkout Form module within the Divi interface. You can also create variations of any other elements of your landing and checkout pages that you would like to test. Here is the step by step process:

1. Prepare Your Setup

  • Ensure you have Studiocart and Divi installed and activated
  • Ensure you have a Studiocart product and it’s applied to a Divi page.
  • Depending on your needs, we want to conduct an A/B split test between two products to determine which one performs better. Let’s call these products Product X and Product Y.
  • Setup a custom thank you page for each product

2. Edit the Page with Divi

  • Open your Divi page editor.

3. Get the Shortcode Tracker

  • Click Page Options
  • Enable Shortcode Tracking
  • Copy and save it somewhere for now, we will get back to this shortcode later.

4. Select your split testing subject

  • Once you enable split testing, you will need to select the split testing subject. Simply click “Proceed.”
  • Next, select the Studiocart order form.
  • A popup will appear, asking you to select the goal.
  • Select the Studiocart order form again, ensuring that both the subject and the goal are the same.
  • Once you do that, you will see this little box on your Studiocart order form, it means you have successfully setup split test. You could navigate it by click left arrow or right arrow
  • In this example, I have modified the second Studiocart order form to represent Product Y, with a different pricing structure. Product X offers a $100 and $50 payment plan, while Product Y offers a $97 and $47 plan.
  • Once you’ve made these changes, save your settings

5. Add shortcode conversion tracker

  • Remember the shortcode tracker you copied earlier? Now it’s time to paste this into the thank you page of each product (Product X and Product Y). This will track whether customers reach the thank you page.

6. Test Your Changes

  • Open your product page in incognito mode.
  • The first time you open it, you’ll see Product X
  • Close and reopen it in incognito mode, and now you will see Product Y
  • If this happens, the A/B test is running correctly.
  • You can try to checkout on one of the product to see if the data is going through.

7. Check Split Test Data

  • Click the split test data icon to view the results.
  • Navigate to Shortcode Conversion tab and you’ll be presented with a graph showing the performance of each section

8. End the Split Test & Pick a Winner

  • Once you’re satisfied with the results, click “End Split Test & Pick Winner.”
  • Choose the product that performed better to keep on your page.

And that’s it! You’ve successfully conducted an A/B test with Studiocart and Divi.

It’s crucial to run A/B tests with statistically significant sample sizes and for a sufficient duration to ensure reliable results. Additionally, it’s a good practice to test one element at a time and make data-driven decisions based on the test results to continuously optimize your lead generation and sales funnel.
