Affiliates Addon (Beta)

Starting with Studiocart 2.8, we’re excited to introduce the dedicated Affiliates Addon — designed to boost your sales by empowering affiliate marketing for your products. Try it for free while it’s in beta, and help us refine it with your valuable feedback!

The Affiliates Addon allows your users to earn commissions by promoting your Studiocart products, turning them into ambassadors for your brand.

This guide will walk you through everything you need to set up and manage affiliates seamlessly on your website.

Prerequisites

To use the Affiliates Addon, ensure the following:

1. Studiocart is updated to version 2.8 or higher.

2. The Affiliates Addon is installed and activated.

Adding a New Affiliate

There are two ways to add new affiliates:

  • From WordPress Admin

You can manually add affiliates from your WordPress admin panel. Navigate to Studiocart > Affiliates > Affiliates > Add New Affiliate.

  • From Frontend

Users can register themselves as affiliates using the shortcode: [sc_affiliate_signup]

Important Notes:

Affiliates registered through the shortcode will have a default status of Pending and need manual approval.

You must assign an existing WordPress user or choose to Create User to each affiliate so they can log in to their Affiliate Dashboard.

Assigning Products to Affiliates (and Setting Up Commissions)

After registering as a new affiliate, the next step is to add a product to your affiliate account. You can choose which product you want to promote as an affiliate. This is the step to assign a product to affiliates:

  • Edit the Studiocart Product
  • Navigate to Affiliate tab
  • Enable Affiliates
  • On the same screen, you could setup a commissions.
  • After you enable affiliate sales, save the product.
  • Edit your affiliate again, scroll to the bottom and you will see your product listed here:
  • You could enabled on specific product, then click “Update Products”.

Affiliate Dashboard

Affiliates can view their stats, affiliate links, commissions, and payout settings in the Affiliate Dashboard.

To create an Affiliate Dashboard, use the shortcode: [sc_affiliate_dashboard]

Affiliate Settings

We have few settings for Affiliate that you could customize. You could find the setting under Studiocart > Settings > Affiliates.

  • Automatic Affiliate User Role: Automatically turn any existing (and future) WordPress users with the matching user role into affiliates.
  • Affiliate Manager Email: Email address for the Affiliate Manager.
  • Tracking URL Parameter Name: Define the parameter for affiliate links (e.g., ?aff=1).
  • Allow affiliates to customize their own affiliate identifier: Allow affiliates to replace their affiliate ID with a custom identifier.
  • Default URL Format: Choose between affiliate ID or custom identifier for links.
  • Affiliate Dashboard Page: Assign the page where the Affiliate Dashboard is displayed.
  • Cookie Length (in days): Set how long cookies will remain on a customer’s browser.
  • Award to: Decide whether commissions go to the first referral or the last referral if multiple affiliates are involved.
  • Minimum Payout Amount: Set the minimum amount an affiliate needs to request a payout.
  • Refund Grace Period (in days): Specify the delay before commissions are made available after an order is paid.
