This guide will walk you through the process of setting up Upgrade Paths in Studiocart.
To create Upgrade Paths, you should go to Studiocart -> Upgrade Paths, then click Add New Upgrade Path
Upgrade Paths Fields
Upgrade Paths Fields:
Enable: Toggle switch to activate or deactivate upgrade paths.
Modal Title: The title displayed on the upgrade modal.
Upgrade Plans: Choose whether upgrades occur immediately or at the end of the billing period.
Downgrade Plans: Choose whether downgrades occur immediately or at the end of the billing period.
Plan Option Fields
Options Filter: Determine which plans are displayed on the upgrade modal, such as current plan, equal cost plan, upgrades, or downgrades.
Select Product: Choose the products available for upgrade or downgrade.
Price Options: Select the product plan for the upgrade.
Price Label: Customize the label for the upgrade price, defaulting to the payment plan label from the specified product.
How Customer Can Upgrade Their Plan
Once upgrade paths are configured, customers can upgrade their plans by following these steps:
- Visit their account page.
- Navigate to “Subscription” -> “Manage”.
- Look for the upgrade option, positioned alongside “Cancel” and “Pause”.
Upon selecting the upgrade option, a modal will appear displaying all available upgrade and downgrade choices.
When they try to upgrade the plan, they will be redirected to the checkout page:
If you set the upgrade plans to “at the end of billing period”, the upgrade will cost $0 for the customer.
If you set the upgrade plans to “immediately”, the upgrade will be reduce by the proration credit.
Note: Only customers who have purchased a plan included in the Upgrade Paths configuration will be able to upgrade their plans.
